The mission of NILMDTS is to introduce remembrance photography to parents suffering the loss of a baby with a free gift of professional portraiture. NILMDTS trains, educates, and mobilizes professional quality photographers to provide beautiful heirloom portraits to families facing the untimely death of an infant. Healing Hearts Center for Grief & Loss
Regional Hospice and Home Care provides bereavement services at the Healing Hearts Center to families in the community coping with the death of a loved one. Healing Hearts is a place for emotional healing—where individuals and families can get support from social workers, trained volunteers, and more importantly, other grieving people. The family-friendly space of our center, and our compassionate, professionally trained facilitators create a welcoming environment for individuals and families.Healing Hearts is the only program of its kind to service Western Connecticut and nearby New York and is solely funded by donations. More than 30 different programs, support groups, social groups, workshops and memorial events for children, adults, families and caregivers occur regularly throughout the year at our convenient Danbury location. Many of the groups are open-ended, so that people can attend as long as they need to.Through education, support groups and workshops, children and families have a safe place to begin healing. They start to understand their feelings as they face the challenge of rebuilding their lives with meaning and hope.
